Saltdogs Add Closer to Pitching Staff
Former Sooner Hoerman Pitched in AAA Last Season

(Lincoln, NE) * Saltdogs Manager Tim Johnson has announced the signing of right-handed pitcher Jarod Hoerman (LS-5). Hoerman pitched last season for the Tacoma Rainiers (AAA) of the Pacific League

Hoerman, 6’ 4” and 210 pounds, appeared in 39 games for the Rainiers after beginning the season with San Antonio of the Texas League. At Tacoma, Hoerman was 5-1 with a 4.91 ERA. In 62 1/3 innings pitched, he struck out 34 while walking 40. In 2003, Hoerman helped lead the San Antonio Missions to the Texas League title and set a club record for saves in a season with 36.

A native of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Hoerman played college baseball for the Oklahoma Sooners. He signed as a nondrafted free agent by the Seattle Mariners in 1999.

The 2005 season will mark Hoerman’s seventh year of professional baseball. He has a career record of 25-18 with a 3.19 ERA and 77 career saves.

The Lincoln Saltdogs are scheduled to open the season at 7:05 pm on Friday, May 20th in Sioux Falls, SD against the Sioux Falls Canaries at Sioux Falls Stadium.

The 2005 home opener is set for May 23rd against the Winnipeg Goldeyes at 7:05 pm at Haymarket Park. For tickets call 474-BALL.
