Former White Sox Farm Hand Signed

Outfielder J.D. Foust (LS-1) has been added to the Lincoln Saltdogs roster. Foust played for the Florence Freedom (Ind.) of the Frontier League last season, his contract was then purchased by the Chicago White Sox at the Frontier League All-Star Game, and he was assigned to the Bristol White Sox, the team's Rookie League affiliate.In 28 games for Bristol in 2004, Foust batted 284 with 4 HR's and 19 RBI.Foust, a native of Norwood, Ohio, was selected by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 24th round of the 2003 draft, after playing collegiately at Toledo, and was assigned to the Batavia Muckdogs (A) of the New York-Penn League. His career numbers include a batting average of .275 with 8 HR's and 62 RBI. The 2005 season will mark his third year of professional baseball.The Lincoln Saltdogs are scheduled to open the season at 7:05 pm on Friday, May 20th in Sioux Falls, SD against the Sioux Falls Canaries at Sioux Falls Stadium. The 2005 home opener is set for May 23rd against the Winnipeg Goldeyes at 7:05 pm at Haymarket Park. For tickets call 474-BALL.
