Saltdogs Sign RHP Hogan
Right-Handed Pitcher Gary Hogan (LS-2) has signed with the Lincoln Saltdogs. Hogan spent the 2004 season, in the Texas Rangers minor league system, with three teams: Frisco (AA) of the Texas League; Stockton (A) of the California League and Clinton (A) of the Midwest League.
“Gary is someone we’ll take a look at,” said Saltdogs Manager Tim Johnson. “He’s big and strong and has the physical characteristics to be a power pitcher.”
Hogan, 23, a native of North Little Rock, AR, played collegiately for the University of Arkansas and was selected by the Texas Rangers in the 32nd round of the 2002 draft. His career totals include appearing in 85 games with a record of 9-10 and a 3.82 ERA. In 240 1/3 innings pitched, Hogan has 130 K’s and 97 BB’s. The 2005 season will mark his fourth year in professional baseball.
The Lincoln Saltdogs are scheduled to open the season at 7:05 pm on Friday, May 20th in Sioux Falls, SD against the Sioux Falls Canaries at Sioux Falls Stadium.
The 2005 home opener is set for May 23rd against the Winnipeg Goldeyes at 7:05 pm at Haymarket Park. For tickets call 474-BALL.
